However, there are those that will be able to sleep regardless of the fan noise and for those, it would probably not be an aspect that they would have to consider.

Energy Star ratings is another aspect that most would want to consider. This can be the difference between saving on a utility bill or not. All energy star compliant units are clearly marked and there rating should be considered when purchasing one. But, be aware, not all are energy star compliant and one should be aware of this also.
